Nicholas joined Scharfstein Gibbings Walen Fisher at the beginning of 2008. He attended the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia and completed the last semester of his studies at Université Pierre Mendes France in Grenoble, France. After being called to the Bar, Nicholas worked for a number of years as Crown Counsel in the Okanagan Valley. Nicholas is active in the community with an interest in community and environmental issues. He has one daughter, Helena.
